How To Wear A Bandanna As A Mask

of a Masterpiece: Elbow "Build a Rocket Boys ¡"...

Seven Readers:
I have not heard an album as exciting as the Build a Rocket Boys! of the British Elbow . Yes, and I emphasize the word: exciting. Because it is a job that generates emotions: to be at an extremely talented band, the Plan to meet their own originality of genius and of being before an album lyrically and musically beautiful.
How to explain the excitement?. That's the question I try to resolve as I write these lines. How to explain a series of soundscapes that take you from thinking, happiness, melancholy to hope?. The "how" takes on new connotations when the headphones sounds powerful voice of Guy Garvey singing to these mysterious birds that seem to see everything in "The Birds " - the first track on the album - while a simple rhythm section explodes into a powerful orchestration just half the issue. The feeling is almost inexplicable, but somehow you know you're in the way of a single work. You have two choices: look to work with the fine ear of the music lover or just get the feeling that the disc is by producirte. Either path will always be different. Because if something does Elbow to Build a Rocket Boys! is that every time I hear you will be taking a completely new route.

A road that will continue to "Lippy Kids": a warning to generation who wasted his talent, he has not realized that the days of his youth are golden days in one of the most beautiful songs of the album. Carvey encourages awakening, as a whistle is heard in the background keyboard counterpoint to the incisive Craig Potter.

And then you're hooked. Perhaps trying to give answer to "how" that I posed at the outset. Perhaps it is absorbed in the contemplation sound and questions generated from the lyrics of the song.
may continue on that path hand mandolin just Mark Potter the next track, then our dream will be shattered by a chorus that suddenly emerges singing "With Love " then you will smile to find a new world of sound, one single, simple, unpretentious that found in positive love song and that is precisely what the full of grandeur. Universe which reaffirms the powerful melody of "Neat Little Rows" that comes as a spice-laden sound of a stampede in interpreting a passion that leads to unpredictable and even violent end.

Violence to be contrasted with almost folk sound of "Jesus Is A Rochdale Girl" - maybe the best track record in terms of lyrical - at a Wurlitzer organ shall have a child and melancholy air, which will be the ideal company for the then acomedida and both profound interpretation of Carvey, and solid rhythm section consisting of Pete Turner and Richard Jupp .

At that moment the disc, the "how" will not yet found an answer. Maybe even you do not care for her. Elbow will be immersed in his art. And the force will come back to power. The chameleon acquire Carvey voice again when interpreter dyes under the first epic of the album, "The Night Will Always Win." An anthem played almost "acapella" with obvious godspell dyes. Could it be that the "how" is in the perennial quest of the spiritual side of music?. I can not even respond to that. Just at the end of the track your ears will be infected by the power of a vocal performance made with the entrails, heart.

Where do we go then?, What time they entered an almost Latino metal scene?, At what point the drums take on a new dimension and a piano and some metals that may take us back to the days of Xavier Cugat , but with an air of postmodern? If all that is possible in "High Ideals " anti-war theme, and romantic anti finally.

Where are we, what part of the road? We are now ready to talk about "how." We may think so, perhaps because they understood the journey goes ... and no, there are still surprises Build The Rockets Boys!, There is still time for a second epic, for choral, full of strings, the energy of the voices that scream it's time to go home, that are willing to welcome us with open arms. " Open Arms" is one of those songs that you will not forget once you hear it. It is perfection in terms of production, instrumentation, composition and style. Elbow is at its best. And then you know: You're aware that everything and everyone here ( Everyone's here! sings Carvey spreading his arms) Yes, then one acquires this consciousness that comes after the assumption and you find yourself repeating over and again: Masterpiece, Masterpiece ...

The reprise of "The Birds " will to breathe, to take breath. If you chose the path of music lovers probably be thinking that you have not heard anything similar to Build a Rocket Boys are you with the most original this year, maybe you will not find anything that could overcome. Then come back again and again to the album, perhaps trying to draw similarities with any other band or artist, perhaps to explore new textures and atmospheres, it may get lost in its dazzling originality. If you let the other side with the sensations in the bowels feel the happiness that can only be found through good music. Invariably come back to look for new sensations, and you'll fly back from the infinite possibilities that the sentiments embodied in the staff possess.
AND Elbow members seem to be aware of what they have caused and are willing to thank you with affection that you have decided to undertake this journey with them. "Dear Friends " looks like a track dedicated to all who came with them at journey's end. Section is a happy, thanks to who has become an accomplice in an old and dear friend.

And if at first asked how explain the excitement? When the disc came to the conclusion that it is impossible. The excitement produced by the art is inexplicable, and at the end of the Build A Rocket Boys Elbow, not because it interests you and find your reason and your feelings have been touched, harmed by the sublime music. The "how" has finally ceased to be important, all that is important now is that reunion with the myriad of art and what it could have on those who undertake and complete a trip with her.

Dicks Last Resort Sayings

of you are what you hear ...

Seven Readers !!...

I love music. I really love and I know - it sounds a cliché - I could not live without it. Throughout my life I have lived together with the notes of the staff, I've studied, I've tried to understand, but mostly I have left captivated by the sensations and feelings that pass by the thoughts it generates. Over the years I've realized that music has this pair of functions: to generate feelings, but also has to get to thinking. When both combinations are given, then this is perfect, with the possibility of opening new doors to different possibilities. The music is then you get that good music.
is not an act of escapism through the staff, but to find new edges to reality and their possible solutions. A good song challenges you challenges you intellectually and emotionally at the same time, if not, then if we are to work and generate mere escapist entertainment, to that to which
John Lennon called Musak . And these are works in which each keep more distance as time just does not produce any challenge, any excitement. Spend it with plastic and formula music. about Maná or Luis Miguel or the Black Eyes Peas : songs with a simple structure and they devote to repeat formulas proven commercial success, but artistically and not really represent something important, no longer open doors to new possibilities.

Recently someone very important to me gave me a musical humbling showing me that there is still music made by artists wanting to create new possibilities. Discovering this has been wonderful, especially because you realize that this is an infinite phenomenon: the music will always be new forms of art to offer. It can be any genre, any style, any time, but if it makes you think and feel different things each time your finger press the play button, if that music confronts you with yourself and the world at something then you worthwhile.

We are what we hear. There's no doubt. What is in our record collections, on our computers or our digital players talk about what we were, we are, what we want to be. Who fills your music collection formula plastic and maybe - and I stress the maybe - conformist is someone with little spirit of inquiry, a worshiper of the "establishment" and unwilling to change. But who is genuine in its music search, who is credited with daily musical reflective music, music history, music made to fly, music that always opens new doors: perhaps someone willing to change, to evolve, to grow intellectually and spiritually original and genuine person, someone who will fight for what he thinks and believes, that is, someone must.
