The Matanza-Riachuelo Basin
Matanza Riachuelo Basin covers 2.240Km square and extends for over 70km long from the town of Cañuelas to its mouth on the Rio de la Plata, between the City of Buenos Aires and the municipality of Avellaneda.
basin is the most polluted in the country and one of the three (3) most polluted in the world.
In the lower basin that extends from waist to Road Boca waters can not be used for any type of activity of human and industrial consumption. Broadly speaking
this contamination is the result of the shift in 60% of sewage and 40% of industrial chemical pollution.
live in this territory more than 3,500,000 inhabitants, almost 10% of the country's population, a significant portion of it is directly affected in their health by pollution, much of it lies below the line poverty. Lacking in 70% of sewage system and 40% have no potable water and we must add the numerous open dumps, as well as the so-called "landfill" that have nothing health.
industries have no treatment plants for industrial fluids.
We therefore demand:
* For Urban Environmental Plan to ensure better living conditions
* Construction of treatment plants sewage
* Extension of water networks and sewage.
* Just dump industrial fluid at Matanza-Riachuelo.
* No garbage dumps and CEAMSE.
* For the natural preservation of the grounds of Laguna de Rocha (EE), Santa Catalina (L.deZ), Grasslands Aldo Bonzi (La Matanza). And of all the green spaces bordering the Matanza-Riachuelo. Adhere
